Happy

Suddenly she was happy:
Happiness was
waking up in the morning and remembering that
one was happy. Each signal of
a new day
was another occasion to remember anew
the good news. Indeed, for the first
time in a long while she looked
forward to waking up in the morning.
Remembrances came flooding into
one's consciousness the moment
one became conscious that
one was awake,
and morning made all remembrances fresh
like falling snow:

she loved to wake up in the morning and remember that she was happy.
