Biography

My critical faculties as an artist have been sharpened by the somewhat nomadic nature of my life. Being familiar with more than one culture -- namely Asian, Australasian, American and European cultures -- means that no one culture can be taken at its face value. It also means that there is something about all of them that strikes a chord deep inside of you and you learn to recognize yourself afresh in its resonance. I believe that there is a commonality in all human culture and experiences in that they are all an expression of our humanity
